Please keep me in your prayers. Having a right elbow replacement tomorrow. 4 to 5 hour procedure. Surgery usually doesn't rattle me, but this one has me worried.
Prayers for a very successful procedure 🙏🏼

Doc said surgery went well but went longer than expected because more bone had to be removed. I will be on the mend for some time but at the moment not feeling much pain. The anesthesia hasn't fully worn off yet.
Good good, enjoy the anesthesia it's not every day you can legally get high on controlled substances, get well soon

I'm playing with the format a bit, there's something insipid about the A series. Gonna get myself a moulding plane and make my own frames.

A friend at college once told me when I asked about my dog (now sadly departed) chewing stuff around the house that if a dog has a need to chew, it's best to find a toy or something that they can chew safely. Likewise, I think with human puppies, if there is a need to hit things then you should get them something that they can hit safely. So for my nephew's christmas present I'm looking for bag gloves in children's sizes.

David's sobriety realisations installment #13: If you do have a lapse and drink a gallon of cider in one night, stay the heck away from ebay. I have a bonsai, an inuit stone sculpture and a book of contemporary poetry I don't remember buying

All in all not a bad evening.
It could have been so much worse!

rassin frassin no good no account shoulder..... JUST when I thought it was FINALLY getting better.... I reinjured it just by holding a leaf bag in one hand and rotating my wrist 180 degrees...... I'm getting REAL tired of this.....

I've been watching old Top Gear reruns lately and I saw something I neve saw before, and it made me chuckle

Don't give my shoulders any ideas... How the heck can I injure myself picking up a laptop, but bench 235 as a working weight...

It is frustrating! Last Tuesday, I have my right elbow scoped/cleaned out. An amazing amount of bone spur/chips and torn cartilage removed. I can already tell it will help with pain in flexion. BUT, it did not straighten the elbow much if any. My arm is permanently crooked, and I have to really think about how I grab and lift thing. To exacerbate this, I am headed for a shoulder replacement sooner rather than later.
Can I still do everything I used to? Pretty much. But I really, really, really have to think about how I do it.

Everybody seems to be bl00dy injured. My gout came back yesterday. I took some pain meds, taped my foot up and did my workout today anyway because I'll be BADGERED if I'm going to start again getting my body used to working out. I know it's a bit crazy, but then I am...
