Nope, they're not even predicting flurries now, and a gradual warming trend (20s tomorrow up to about 40 by Wednesday), so a lot of what we've got should melt off.

And hey, surprise of surprises - they sent an actual plow down my street - on a pickup truck, but this one actually plowed - so far it's been by 4 times (2 times each direction) - last time all I saw was 2 plow trucks come through once, with their plows well above the snow level.

Well thats good news! :)

I thought you had to have a working phone line for DSL - at least, that's what they told me when I had it.

I', with comcast cable and the DSL comes over the same line as the cable just from the wall mount they use a splinter with two heads and one wire goes to your modem and the other to the box for the TV. It really does cut that un usable phone bill.

Oh... cuz I'm with comcast, too - but I have cable internet, not DSL.

You should call them because we have DSL and that means you should be able to get it as well. At least I would think so:erg:

Yes, thats one thing that sucks..waiting for the utilities to be hooked up. I hate when they give you that time frame of when they're coming. It always seems like its towards the end. If they say between 12-4, its always closer to 4.

I just ask them where to send the bill to because the days I work I get paid well for. Happens to be a day I planned on working and they plan on making me wait 4 or 5 hours I tell them I'm going to send a bill and believe it or not, they usually set a time within 30 minutes that the tech will be there. Never had them more than 5 minutes later than they said when I do that. It also helps when you do calls for them and they KNOW you will send one. :)

I'm not too worried about it - my cable internet is from Comcast, so I think I'm covered. I'm thinking about dropping my home phone, but I have a few safety concerns, mostly involving 911 calls (from me and reverse 911 calls).

Yeah, I have DSL right now, but after the first of the year, cable broadband should be ready for my area. I might switch over because of the speed difference. 3 Megabit -vs- 6 megabit for only a couple of dollars more.

Being a lady by yourself the home phone is probaly a great ideal to keep me and the wife and three kids two dogs and a cat a snake and also a sugar glider along with a turtle and a rat I feel pretty safe and plus we have a house full of weapons

Darn, and I thought Jeff had a bunch of animals. Sounds like a small zoo around your place. Mine is just a zoo because of 4 boys.

Well, I have a dog - and he's a pretty good barker - but he's kind of a wuss... still, I might drop all the services except the caller ID block; that'd cut my bill about $30. The only thing that's stopping me, is I'm grandfathered in on a group deal, that I could never get back if I drop it.

Mine are because of three boys and a wife that just can't say no to her students when they do not want there animals anymore
