It's official now. I'm in Hell. Christmas music is playing and the tree is up and being decorated as I type. Don't get me wrong, while I am already tired of the holiday season, I am excited for the boys. They are decorating the tree and while it will never make a magazine, it looks beautiful to them and that is what matters. Somehow I managed to stuff an obsene amount of lights on it (1200 if I remember) and the only reason it passes muster for the Ruffians is the simple fact I ran out of lights. It looks like the Christmas department at a local retailer has exploded in our house and the boys are floating on cloud nine.

I guess I have always been a Scrooge around Christmas, but I try to be nice all the time and it just seems hypocritical for a cashier who has snarled the price for the last 11 months to suddenly become my best friend wishing me "Merry Christmas" every time I buy a pack of gum. You all know, while I may spout off here (I have to let it out you know) I would never let my lack of holiday cheer show for the kids. The season is for them, and we try to incorporate the "Christmas Story" so they know it isn't just about how much stuff they can get, but how much they can GIVE; to each other, but to the community as well. I've gone Christmas caroling with them, and had a great time.

Well back to the PWing

Bydand I'm with you I enjoy the holidays for my childern other than that hummbug

I think I wold enjoy the season more if the retailers didn't start cramming it down your neck 2 weeks BEFORE Halloween now. Even when I was a kid which isn't that long ago, they never brought out the Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving.

Definately a long day but all that is left is making dinner and teaching.

You're preaching to the choir..There is a retailer up here that has ALL the Thanksgiving stuff up on Halloween and the Christmas stuff is put up a day later

I hear ya...I remember...

Worked sucked big time..If I live to be 100 (and I probably will ) I will NEVER understand why people that have been assaulted wait until the NEXT DAY to report it...

Beats the hell out of me. I know that can be a mess for you.

I agree... the only retailers I agree with when they bring stuff out early is the craft stores - and that's just because they're bringing things in time for people to make them.

Being Jewish, it's even worse... oh, sure, Target has an end-cap with crappy Hanukah stuff, but I don't even celebrate Christmas, and I'm inundated with it.
