I ‘went for it’ in the gym, yesterday and today all I have is a gentles overall ache in my biceps, legs and pecs! It took just one session to (last Friday) to become accustomed to the exercise. An amazing ability to adapt!

Congratulations, now you will have so much time to practice martial arts once you are healed up. I am at the point now that I know I will practice for the rest of my life. It has helped get back into shape and I love to do it.
Getting back in to shape is definitely one of the goals, have to, if I want to keep up with my wife when in China.. she walks everywhere

Your body bounced right back, great to hear!

This sucks. At least one can say for certain that she made the world a better place while she was alive. Her charity work was not even the most incredible thing about her. If she'd been a man, people would have called her a genius.

I mean, say what you like about the USA; anywhere that can invent beef jerky, Dolly Parton and Jack Daniel's must be doing something right. We need more people like her in the world.

It's hit harder than I thought it would. Dolly was one of the singers my mum would play on repeat while dad was working away. It's silly, but I felt she really did understand how lonely a person could be. Goodbye, Mrs.Dean.

Actually retirement is not on the actual last day of October, that is a Saturday this year, it is the second to last week, the 22nd

For some reason, when I am having a bad week, my brain tries to invert my normal sleeping patterns. Last night I got no sleep whatsoever. I apologise in advance if things get wierder than usual. I am still going to do my workout, in fact stuff it I'm going to use the 35kg dumbbell on this one. Out of sheer stubbornness.

My little memorial to Yayoi Kusama, who died yesterday. Pumpkins were one of her favourite subjects

35 kg is quite heavy. I usually stick to lighter weights these days due to wear and tear on my joints. Pushups have always been a good exercise and one I enjoy.

Oh, I love pushups, always have. I do single arm clean and presses, alternating, then I do situps, then I hit the deck and do pushups. The theory being that the shoulder and core muscles will be pre-exhausted to some extent. It's kind of a mechanical drop set.

Yay! managed 5 reps/side in 1 minute on the sacap and kushanku and 10x swings 3 times with the 35kg bell in 6 min! Gonna stick to this weight for a good while.
