I mean, the idea result of any potentially violent encounter is nobody getting hurt- but young men often don't think like that, something that a mature and supposedly responsible older man should be aware of. One of the reasons for maximum ages to join the military is that very young men don't have the same inhibitions that we do about violence- which makes it much easier to train them to kill.
