I mean, the idea result of any potentially violent encounter is nobody getting hurt- but young men often don't think like that, something that a mature and supposedly responsible older man should be aware of. One of the reasons for maximum ages to join the military is that very young men don't have the same inhibitions that we do about violence- which makes it much easier to train them to kill.
 
So I set myself the goal of walking around the block- if I could make it around the block I could train tomorrow. I couldn't. Went about 100 yards and my ankle siezed solid. A few more days' rest is needed.
 
Well, my gift for surviving g another spin around good ol' Sol seems to be arthritis of the shoulder...

Yeah, me.

Made me remember a story, that is martial arts associated, kinds sorta, but it did not happen at work..

Years ago, before I meant my wife, a Chinese woman I knew, that was from Guangzhou (Southern China) told me "Southern Chinese Argue, Nothern Chinese hit"

Mrs Xue is Northern Chinese.

When we were first married, she got mad at me for something, I do not remember what, but she tried to hit me in the stomach, I instinctively blocked, she tried this 3 times and I blocked three times. Then she said, "I'm mad at you". I said, "how inconsiderate of me, I should not be blocking then". So...she hit me, then hit me again, and again... then said "Doesn't that hurt" then tried something like a Wing Chun chain punch..... I said..."oh, sorry, If I say ouch, will you stop?"

She started laughing, and stopped hitting....
 
There's something aposite about that dude doing a 261.3lb turkish getup to raise awareness of mental health issues, it's like "Look, look at what these people do to themselves, surely they need some sort of help?" - Me, a heavy turkish getup fan

So one of my clients gave me a half bottle of Jack Daniel's. So, yeah, I've proved once again that I cannot be trusted with whiskey in the house and I have no control whatsoever over my drinking. Welp, off we go again...

It's hard, but you have to turn any gift or thank you like that down, at least until you are well established in your sobriety.
