I often wonder the same thing

I was asked by a department in my office to spec out laptops for them. THey had an idea of what they wanted and told me. After a couple days I came back with the laptops I recommended and also told them the one they were looking at is nothing but trouble as well as telling them "Do Not Order It"........ they order the one I expressly told them not to order...several of them actually

Now I get to tell them, every single time they bring one to me to fix..... I told you so.....

Happens in the real world too
well, it's the same people after all.....

I loved those things. Like in the Highlights magazines. Right? I haven't looked, but I bet they make "adult" versions to buy.

I'm messing around with kumiko woodworking. My son-in-law wants to make an electric guitar for my daughter, and we're trying to make one that is a kumiko design.
a German version, yes.
Some things were so big you had to collect several of the magazines.
I just looked, those things do come in kits to buy (I found some free ones to download a while back, but also a computer or 2 back.....

Been a forced vegetarian for about a month due to the wonderful stomach bug I had. Spent a couple weeks proving man can live on only bread and water. Could not even handle low salt. low fat chicken broth. Then I got so I could have peanut butter, and then, on occasion, chicken soup. Then I got to vegetable, but they had to be cooked, raw vegetables were not my friend. I was even without tea for a month, was able to handle green tea again last Monday. I was doing pretty good this week, vegetables and bread, potatoes and sweet potatoes. So today I went out to lunch and decided to give a turkey sandwich a try.....and now....my stomach hurts....first time in a week. But then that was the largest amount of meat I have eaten in one sitting in over a month.....back to my vegetarian ways for a bit longer I guess....

and now...back to my nap :)

Just read something that has left me rather shocked and dismayed, never would have ever expected this.... I will not post names
But my youngest first aikido sensei, for the kids class, has apparently been arrested for rape of a minor....... we left him years ago shortly after he opened his own school and went to another teacher in the orignal school, who was and has been awesome....but I never would have expected this.... he was a good teacher.... I was originally sad we had to leave...now I'm thinking we missed a bullet...

If I remember right, the 'little aikidoka' is a teen now right? Is she aware?

She is a teen and she is not aware and since she has not seen him in years and there was no possibility of returning to his dojo, I am not sure I'm going to tell her about it at this time.

She started with him a the main dojo and the followed him to his new dojo, which turned out to be to far so we returned to the main dojo.

At this time she is not training aikido at all but thinking about it again possibly in the summer

We had something like that occur a few years back. BJJ black belt, active competitor and referee in the state arrested for rape of a minor. Horrible.

It usually is a shock.
they hide it well

Had a similar shock about 10 years ago when the Feds showed up in my office and arrested a coworker for selling kiddie porn... He had a wife and daughter, daughter was in elementary school at the time.

I had to pull his PC and turn it over to the Feds

Sick people in the world breathing my air....and I find that rather annoying

I consider myself fortunate to have never seen that.

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. Sort of a martial arts movie. Highly recommend it. Trippy and fun.

Going to see Sonic 2 this evening. I’m not optimistic that this will be as good. I guess low expectations may work in my favor.

As someone who trains with live blades every single day, and who just spent an hour trimming not one, but two briskets (one corned with no cap, one massive one with)...and no fingers lost or compromised this day...

...I have to say right now, I am disappoint, thinking "why can't we have nice things?"

Lol. I use live blades in the kitchen every day but I’m completely untrained.

Ever trimmed brisket?

It requires training. You might get cut too, between the silverskin and the fat cap.

You can always tell if an amateur trimmed the brisket, too.
