Also, I agree with. Like they say... GO BIG OR GO HOME. I got in an argument with another student at my dojo over this, but if it comes to a fight, I say show no mercy. im not say take a life by any means, but make sure the person you are defending agaist cant get up to attack again. Thats why I want to cross train in Hung Gar, while they preach avoidance like you say, the style is devestating with powerful punches and kicks...plus is a beautiful art

I know of GM Brassard, having come up in the Villari system myself in the 80s. Speaking of Hung Gar, the last form I learned was Tiger/Crane, probably the most well known Hung Gar form. My instructor is the West Coast rep for Fu Jow Pai (Tiger Claw) system as well as kempo. Fu Jow Pai, years back, was only taught to those that had already mastered other KF systems, Hung Gar being one of those.
