thats pretty cool, we share some common elements then. Grandmaster Brassard (who is the head of our orginazation was a student of Villari)

Also, I agree with. Like they say... GO BIG OR GO HOME. I got in an argument with another student at my dojo over this, but if it comes to a fight, I say show no mercy. im not say take a life by any means, but make sure the person you are defending agaist cant get up to attack again. Thats why I want to cross train in Hung Gar, while they preach avoidance like you say, the style is devestating with powerful punches and kicks...plus is a beautiful art

I know of GM Brassard, having come up in the Villari system myself in the 80s. Speaking of Hung Gar, the last form I learned was Tiger/Crane, probably the most well known Hung Gar form. My instructor is the West Coast rep for Fu Jow Pai (Tiger Claw) system as well as kempo. Fu Jow Pai, years back, was only taught to those that had already mastered other KF systems, Hung Gar being one of those.

Naw let go of one of my Instructors last night and another one this morning. Like I said cleaning house, they all need to be on the same page with me and run my curriculum and not some other instructor while they are here. They both seem pissed and surprise at the same time. The one this morning said that the other GM told him this would be best for my school if he did things his way. Like it is his or the other GM school. It is mine and I would like things to be done the way I teach.

That's perfectly understandable, I totally agree.

Very impressive 14 Villari system was something, very SD orientated, no nonsense type I like that.

No problem, when will training start back with you.

Yes, unfortunately the system broke up here in the west and years later I ended up with that split off. It was still a good style to those that knew the concepts and theories of its predecessor, but it was too watered down now. I moved on and I am so very glad that I did.

Well at least you are happy

... I'm sure and remember, I'm starting out with five BB instructors and two other BBs that will help out with kids classes, once we get rolling.

Yea and you all trained together so that is an added plus. Here you bring someone in and they want to change everything. I have an opened mind but sometimes you just have to know when to be quite and when to talk about changing.

Im actually planning to start back in Februrary. Im getting a second job and want to make sure I can handle that with my current job and then I will slowly start back into my training. I also want to shed some pounds if possible. Get my metabolism rolling and then get back in to SKK to get the proverbial ball moving even faster.

I was afraid of getting burned out with my training. 45+ hrs of work, 20+ hours of school and then training was to much. Everything was mentally taxing as well as physically. But the second job Im getting is a no brainer so I should be better off.

Very ... my instructor and I think alike as far as self defense goes. Only frustration I'm having now is of my body type and the age factor ... kung fu kicks my butt ... LOL ... still learning kempo, but throwing some kung fu into the mix.

Sometimes you just need to step back and reflect before moving forward.
