If we all met up for dinner one night, we'd have one hell of a bill, at the end of the evening LOL!

Sorry. Maybe now that it is the 3rd shift, things will quiet down and get better for you. Don't fret, we're here for ya!

How was the seminar?

Thanks so much. I really needed that tonight. Unfortunately the situation will take awhile to die down so...fingers crossed :(

The Silat seminar was FANTASTIC. I should have the pix on Thursday so hopefully I'll be able to do a writeup and photos.

I'm having a rotten day at work and I'm sore as hell from my Silat seminar on Saturday, but other than that I'm doing fine :) :)

Hi Carol, I'm sorry to hear that... hate those bad days that stay with you like poison. Did you have a good long weekend, at least?

Thanks! I stumbled in to a wrong-place-at-the-wrong time situation. Everyon around me has been about as good about it as they can be, I just have to wait for the political effects to blow over. This too shall pass, I hope.

The weekend was really good. Had a great time at the seminar and I'm still feeling the pain  But it was really good to be away from work and computers for a few days :)

Yes, I noticed you weren't posting to MT over the weekend. Sometimes a day or two from the Little Screen is a good thin... The seminar sounds great! What kind of stuff were you doing?

As for work politics---it always does blow over, but the obnoxious thing is, it always comes back! Maybe next time, with a little luck you won't be in the line of fire when things go sideways...

We were doing some of the Harimau (Tiger) moves of Pencak Silat. Legend says Harimau was inspired from how tigers fight so there is a lot to Harimau that is done low to the ground. A deep stance in most arts is a mid stance in Harimau. Despite the pain, it was a lot of fun. Brutal art though...this was a style designed specifically for combat.

Hopefully so. It will take some time but fortunately I think all that is needed is time. What a PITA. I'm glad I'll be on vacation in a few days :D :D

Sounds like the kind of thing where you discover just how many pain receptors you have inside your legs... I like TKD patters which emphasize lower stance in part because I just like the look of them, and it's a great thing to feel yourself moving fluidly from one lowish stance to another. But what you're describing sounds bloody hard.

That's what I've heard about various forms of Silat. Sounds like you had a terrific time---but maybe wouldn't want to do this every week?

Nothing like being out of harm's way, eh? By the time you get back, there will be some other crisis and no one will remember this one, probably. All the drama will be like last week's newpaper... not a bad thing, come to think of it.

Couldn't have described it better myself. It really is bloody hard...but, it's effective. Harimau has an amazing ground game but oooohhhh...those muscles that are needed are muscles I don't use anywhere near enough.

Maybe not from 10A to 4P with a 2 hour lunch break :D :D

I do hope to do more in class though. I think I'm brave enough to try a bit more. It takes a tremendous amount of trust though.

Indeed! It will likely take a bit longer for everything to blow over....but I think the time away will help a lot. :)

From your passion, drive and spirit shown in the past, you THINK you're brave enough? What more needs to be done to convince yourself? LOL!! On the other note, Keep at it, your muscles will adapt.

A case of Tiger Balm couldn't hurt...LOL!!!!

Hmmm....Harimau = Tiger, I need Tiger Balm....hmmm....coincidence?? :D :D
