This afternoon was a day I knew was coming... but wasn't looking forward to at all. We rescued a pit bull named Buster about 12 years ago, and he's been a good dog. He was about 4 when we rescued him, and he was as gentle as you could want to our then-4 year old. Loved to fetch a ball, and go for hikes. But -- he was 16, ancient for a big dog. The last few months, he's been going downhill, and today was finally the day to say good bye.

I'm so very sorry for your loss that's hard.. but yes you did such a service to him and enriched his life for sure
