Children belong in zoos. What it should be is other than chao. I am Scottish/scandavian, Italian, African. Sorry we didn’t hit your continent of origin yet. We could arrange it if an injection of culture could cure what ails, though I doubt whether even I can affect such afflictions. Whether you held me in disdain was never in question, I expect it from my lessers as it is a necessary consequence of quality, beauty, and charisma. I understand that you lacked the comprehension to recognize the origin of my ancestry, such is the plight of the plebeian, and yet none of my affair. Though it it is apparent you are doing your best, it is ironic that that very fact is what makes your effort so very sad. Please continue your efforts as hope springs eternal. Even one such as you could rise to a reasonable station someday. Chin up!

I have no Chinese ancestry, yet on many occasions my wife (who has nothing but Chinese ancestry- born and raised in China ) tells people i am more Chinese than she is. I also tend to be more comfortable and relaxed, overall, when in China, Chinatown or dealing with Chinese people. But by looking at me, Chinese is something i would never be mistaken as.

Been i Japan, i enjoyed it, but i was not as comfortable there. Everyone was very nice but overall the Japanese are not as accepting of foreigners as the Chinese. And i have been told that by 2 Americans that lived there. They never felt threatened in any way, and everyone was very nice, but they were always an outsider. Also told that by a Japanese woman (from Japan) who was married to a friend of mine, as it applies to foreigners living in Japan.

Well, i got a copy of my medical record about my “minor rotator cuff” tear. Mrs Xue was reading it and said, this isn’t minor, it’s a partial tear… did not know why my MD (orthopedic) called it minor.

I see another doc (orthopedic) for a second opinion in about 1 month.

Looking more and more like i might end up in surgery

There is an interesting thing about cross training rule sets that emphasise elements that would otherwise be overlooked.

This drill would be an excellent footwork exercise for combat sports.

My wife is Japanese and she has mentioned the same thing to me. When we visited Japan, I had a similar experience. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. Even her parents were very welcoming when I first met them. We are planning on living in Japan for part of the year once I retire. I think I will learn the language by then so that life will be little easier when I am out and about without my wife there to interpret. I think knowing the language also goes a long way with them, much like knowing English goes a long way in America.

It helps. But the people I know that lived there were fluent

There smartphone is locked and I can’t unlock it, don’t know why, looking into, ther get angry and storm out

It was discovered locked, by them 6 days ago… huh.., can’t work without smartphones
I discovered it had not checked into the system for greater than 13 days ….can’t work without smartphones
Last location system was on phone is over a month ago…..can’t work without smartphones

That’s nice, I kind of have it all summer, and summers are long here around 5-6 months, at least for a Swede like me that feels it’s summery if it’s just +15 C.

Well … could be…. Albeit unscheduled… but she’s got nothing to do with so whatever floats her boat…. My only wish would be that she extends that vacation until after October…. Then I would not have to deal with it ever again

We have had a company contracting out some work, that insisted they needed 100+ users (all being paid by us) to work on the project.

Queue 50 million IT issues that prevent them from doing said work. On a couple, they expressed they could never log in, which we found weird they were telling us in beginning July when they were supposed to start on the project in end may, and that's when their account was set up...searched some of the other people and noticed a significant lack of logs for some of these 'necessary' workers. Wish I was in the meeting when that was brought up to the contractor company.

I wish i could say that’s surprising, but came across similar things working for the government, especially during covid. There were a few employees filling out time sheets that never logged on and no one knew were they were.

1 discovered that the person was not originally logging on, but when things closed he started , but was in Las Vegas, where he got stranded .

Another discovered that 2 of their people, it the early days of Covid, took off for an island vacation no one knew about…. Most unfortunately for them…everything closed after they got there… when they contacted their office to find out what they should do…. This was discovered … they were stuck there for the duration…

I just discovered there is all sorts of mandatory training i have to get done by October 30….this means my retirement date can’t be any later than October 29. Because after over 30 years of virtually the same dang ridiculous training… I don’t want to do anymore of if

If they aren't job specific and will refresh certifications, consider doing g them anyway. You might like having the options down the road...

Work for government specific, nothing to do with any certification. Sexual harassment training, pronoun training, safety training, etc. its all HR CYA stuff

And to be honest, at this point, down the road is retirement and if I have anything to say, nothing to do with IT. But my certs are fine for now.

I’m officially a senior citizen soon with a gov pension, and Mrs Xue is working so, my plan is train what MA i can, for as long as I can…. Hers is I clean the garage and the basement
