Had a good trial shift. I picked up the technique of potting on real quick- not like I hadn't done it before, but people have different methods- and chatted with the lads all day while doing it, they're a great bunch of guys and girls, dogs wander freely over the whole site, boss said he thought it went very well, I'll know in a couple of days if I have the job. Just gotta keep myself entertained until then. I think I'll do some of my self employed stuff, gotta pay off my bar bill. Nice long, slow relaxing yoga when I got home.

Every once in a while I get reminded of exactly how extreme some people on reddit are, and how much they are unaware of their extremism. Apparently a perfectly rational response to paramount buying warner bros is burning/destroying all your dc comics to avoid supporting nazism.

Kushanku and single arm dumbbell swings. Going really light to work on my pushups more. I wanna beat the makiwara, but my parents are asleep upstairs.
I kind of think that social media creates these extreme reactions, it kind of robs you of your sense of proportion. It also coarsens our emotional life and our debates. It has its virtues, but my mental health has been so much better since I quit facebook.

I'd bet that on Reddit, it's mostly talk. Folks aren't actually going to burn their comic book collection. They're just venting and karma farming. Or their bots stirring the pot.

That said, one problem with this lack of perspective is that it muddies the waters. When these guys probably should be reacting strongly, they miss it completely.

In less serious news, my orange cat, Murray, is really bad at being a cat. I have a pillow for him on my desk and he just fell off it onto the floor. Now he's really embarrassed. 16 lbs of clumsy.

Bust myself down to my smallest dumbbell (10kg) because I've done a lot of phyiscal work this week and hopefully I am going to be doing a lot more in the future. The idea is to build myself gradually back up to what I was doing without undue soreness and stiffness or having an injury. Summer can't come soon enough, then I can hit my makiwara in the evenings when my parents are out.

Recently saw a side by side video of the outside and inside of the head of this and it was really cool.
I will have to see if i can find that.
Looking forward to seeing a lion dance in China, during Chinese New Year, after I retire

Listening to hank williams, whittling and yoga are a fully realised, integrated recovery program
