Mrs Xue has told people 2 things about me, many of them were Chinese
1) I'm martial arts crazy
2) Sometimes I am more Chinese than she is


Well today
Sent out several texts and emails to people saying happy new year
watched a Chinese movie "Midnight Diner"
Did Taijiquan
Studied Mandarin
Watched a couple shows about Chinese New Year, 3 actually, the last one was Hong Kong
Ate lunch of Homemade Chinese Dumplings, and Homemade Chinese noodle soup (Mrs Wu made them
and now I am sitting here thinking I should go do more Taijiquan and some wing chun.....and study some Chinese characters
while I am watching another Chinese movie, 'Call of Heros' of which I can't understand a word, its in Cantonese

And since Mrs Xue laughed at me when I told her this......Yup.....today I think both 1 & 2 may apply

It's been a long work week, but it's finally over. Was planning on going to kenpo tonight but the wife would rather go out to dinner, plus I'm a little tired from working all weekend. I think I will do dinner with the wife tonight and do my kenpo class tomorrow evening with the head sensei. It's going to be Italian food, some reading and an early to bed kind of night.

My wife doesn’t do that to me… but then I have a trump card…” I could tell them she is a TCM doctor and then they want free medical advice…. But she does tell them I am MA crazy. I just sit there and smile

This probably says more about where and how I grew up than anything else, but in a martial arts class I feel loved, protected and valued. I've never experienced that in any other place, other than the church.

It's good to have that positivity and sense of connection in your life. I think everyone needs some sense of belonging and purpose.

When I was deployed, living in Saudi Arabia back in the dark ages (1991), we purchased some apple cider, cane sugar, and bread yeast, and made some of the nastiest hard cider ever. We used a five gallon water jug and managed the expansion by putting a condom on the top. In the end, it kind of looked like that. I don't think you'll go blind, because it's not distilled liquor, but if it's anything like what I made, you might get a very upset stomach and rue your poor choices.

We are about to get walloped by a snow storm in New England. Some areas are looking to get 20+ inches of snow. Man, this is seriously cutting into my Kenpo class time.

So far, so good. I've been doing a lot of driving back and forth to Arizona to hang out with my parents, doing a lot of work on both houses.
