I am delighted that the British show, The Repair Shop, is now available for free in Tubi. Anyone else familiar with this show?

Yes i am familiar with that show. Use to watch it all the time. The skill of the folks doing the repairs/restorations is amazing. And it is equally impressive to see the end results

Got home from Maine, got everything unpacked and then sat down and watched the first 2 episodes of "The Repair Shop" I had not seen either before. Ironically The forst show covers a repair of an old clock, which I despertly want done to a clock that was my Great Grandfathers, and a repair of an accordion which I want to get done on an accordion that was my fathers.

Would also like an old desk restored that has been in my family for year too.

But I don't live in England, I am not British and the show is no longer on the air

It’s a shame we don’t have something similar here. I think the show is funded by some kind of government grant. Can you imagine this regime funding something as wholesome and enriching as this in America?

I have some things like that, too. My grandfather was a professional banjo player back in the day. I have a couple of his instruments, but would love to see one of his banjos restored. It’s not the most valuable banjo, but he played it in the 20s and 30s. At one point, the resonator broke, so he drilled a hole in a bar tray.

My great Grandfathers clock needs help and hopefully someday I will be able to get it restored. But one thing that isn't from age. It had 3 Fleur De Lis on top. The one that was dead center on the top, the highest of the 3, is missing. But not from damage over time. It would not fit on the shelf my great grandfather wanted to put it on, so he sawed it off so it could fit,

Snowed here today too, nothing for us, just a dusting. Even if it was 5" of snow, that is just an average snow fall here. haver to get close to 8 to 12 before it starts looking like a big storm. Of course we get surprised sometimes, like a few years back when all the news stations predicted 10 to 12 inches. When I got uop in the morning we already had 24 inches and it was still snowing. got to about 28 inches before it stopped

Stay safe. We lost power for a few hours yesterday, but it came on in time to watch the F1 sprint in Beijing.

I'm now making as much on the self employed stuff as I would be on benefits. It's enough for now. I can use the money to frame and start selling my art, being as I'm not drinking or smoking and I'm living with mum and dad. And go to see my nieces and nephews occasionally- now I'm self employed I can go anytime I like!
