Make that Irish Breakfast tea, and then send all the bakery stuff over here. You're getting too smug with your 85% chocolate and various beverages.Mrs Xue is back from China with al sorts of Chinese bakery stuff. I am trying hard not to eat it all. Currently drinking a cup of English Breakfast tea
You know, I never competed - never really had an inclination to. Hearing folks' reports of their competitions, however, has me wishing I was 20 years younger, so I could play in competitions for a while.tournament next Saturday!!
My training isn't for competition, so I'd need a lot of re-training. And then there's my knees (really the bigger issue). I hurt after teaching a class. I shudder to think what my knees would have to say about competition.I think you should give it a try. We love the traveling and meeting people during the competitions.
how dare they walk in front of you!!Nice warm day (57F) so I went for a walk. 3 young woman in the 20s crossed the street and walked in front of me for a total of 30 seconds and during that 30 seconds they were having a conversation and during that 30 seconds they used the F-word 15 times. They then went into a store to continue their conversation

It's appealing, but it would require significant retraining. I'm not aware of any competition that would be a good fit for what I've learned. We do use strikes, but they are secondary to throws and locks, so prepping for a striking competition would take some focus. Any grappling competition is almost certainly going to be more painful than I care to subject myself to, given a few arthritic joints (one rather significantly so). I could have managed it 10 years ago, but that point is passed. Maybe I'll find a competition that's a good fit for what I can do, and what pain I'm willing to end up in.I completely understand the knee thing and have several
knee issues of my own.. that being said - I think you should
give it a try when you're able.. My dojang is not a tournament
school, more traditional but for me - doing tournaments is a
way to step outside of my comfort zone.. Plus, after years
and years when I was a kid being told I wasn't fast enough
or coordinated enough or that we couldn't afford something..
now - when I get the chance - I want to compete.. even if
for no other reason than to say I tried.. also - it's a lot of fun!!![]()
They're just like people with new MBA degrees.wow.... public school science teachers REALLY seem to like overly wordy explanation for lab questions. I can give a 1 sentence long answer where they seem to require 2 paragraphs of an overly wordy explanation .
I concur, entirely and explicitly. Meseems the level of swoopstake obfuscation to be found in some of the missives posted hereon is abominable. I eschew such fopdoodlery. There are a few notable folks around here who could use some help with writing concisely and in plain language.
