I don't know why so many people go crazy over this stuff.
It's not very pleasant to put on the skin and there are so many great products out there, I guess people just dont' know about them.

Tiger Blam is also sold as a liquid in a bottle, not as strong though.

I love it. It helps me on those cold damp winter days. :)

I also use Dit Jow for those happy deep bone bruises. I make it myself.

I have a good recipie for tiger balm and I have most of the ingrediants.

Tiger Balm recipe:
Ingredients: % by weight amt. needed for 56oz. batch
Menthol crystals 20% 9.6 oz.
Camphor blocks 32% 15.36 oz.
Bees wax 20% 9.6 oz.
Petroleum jelly 4% 1.92 oz.
oil of clove 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cajuput 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cinnamon 8% 3.8 oz.
( optional)ammonium hydroxide 1 oz.
Melt beeswax and petroleum jelly in a pot until completely liquified. Remove from heat, quickly stir in camphor blocks (may help to chop or grate camphor). Add rest of ingredients, stir until consistent, and camphor has melted. Pour into permanent container, and let congeal. The above recipe will make a nice tiger balm equivalent to the commercial white stuff. If ammonium hydroxide is added, it turns red, and adds a little more heat to it.

Only one problem.......

My wife will not let me try making it in HER kitchen!!!!! :mp5:

I like it because it's effective and, oddly enough, it smells good to me. Somehow the scent connects me with something, I dunno, strange and wonderful. I guess it smells like MA to me.

I'm wierd that way.

Yes! Upper lip and the bridge of nose (as long as they're not sore from too much sneezing..). Try applying it on your throat and chest if you have a a bad cough.

I have have not tried this but I was told that it can relieve a headace when applied to the temples. Has anyone tried this method of relieving a headache. I also saw posted elsewhere that someone used it for relief of a stomach ache.

What other uses has anyone tried?

it'll cure tension or sinus headaches -- one through helping relax the muscles and one through clearing out the sinuses.

i use it as an antidepressant, too. like egg says, it smells like martial arts. martial arts make me happy. ergo...

I have major sinus problems from time to time and Tiger Balm has been a big help for the reasons described. But in this particular situation I prefer to use Vicks Vapor Rub when I can. It just seems to work a bit better.

since i came back from a chi-sau session looking like a weird zebra, i used "wisest oil" made by Lee Kam Wing... in a short time it changed everything in blue to red.. and everything red to my original skin color. i have a very sore arm due to receiving hammers on it all the time yesterday, and 'wisest oil' doesnt seem to have much effect to cure this...
