tiger balm?

I have been using tiger balm for awhile. But, all I can find is tiny little bottles about 1". I know that there are over 200 possible ingredients. I get it at Walmart. doe anyone know what the active ingredients are? Is there a different brand similar that comes in larger container? Thanks.

Thai oil is basically the same.

It’s supposed to be used sparingly hence the small jar. You’ll just have to buy a three pack. I think it’s probably camphor and menthol that have that heating effect, somewhat like Vapor Rub.

By the way, don’t get it on your scrodger

By the way---some years ago I applied Icey/Hot anti-pain cream (Vapor Rub)to my wife's back. Then without washing my hands I went to the bathroom.....warming affect transferred to scrodger (first time I have heard that term). She still occasionally reminds me of it.

No this is all true. They put cocaine in Tiger Balm but it reacts with the camphor and so it’s safe

Right on your scrodger? I siphoned petrol from a scooter once and saturated my scrodgerious area and that was stingy too!

Do you have Ralgex spray in the USA? A school changing room prank was to spray that on a fellow’s scrodger and peeply! Once you caught a whiff of it’s familiar fragrance in the air, you’d automatically go on the defensive!

Tiger Balm was very common during my time as a kid. It is to be applied when people have mosquito bites.The people who started the Tiger Balm business were ethnic Chinese Singaporeans(?). And if I'm not mistaken, they had something to do with the building of The Ten Floors of Hell in Singapore which is a setting built to portray all those gory scenes from the Chinese version of Hell complete with statues of characters from Hell. You can find out about this setting by doing a search called "Haw Par Villa" on the internet. I don't know if it is still a tourist attraction.

These types of things can be good for pain as they trigger the gate in the Gate theory of pain.

I always buy smaller tubs of this-and-that so they’re quickly used up and therefore a new ‘fresh’ version is purchased. I see people buy huge tubes of antioxidants that’ll be used up in 12 months and think, ‘the active ingredient will breakdown to nothing in a few weeks! Waste of money!’

For example the ‘tiger bits’ (fur, teeth, the anus) in your balm decay in only a week so you’re simply rubbing camphor on your skin
