not much, whats up with you? I see you are up early again. what is it, 5am out there?

B

Yep, 5AM ... not as early as yesterday ... LOL ... and to think, this is my vacation. It's been what we in Southern CA call cold out here, it was 44 when I finally got home last night. Yes, I know, that's nothing, but for SD it is about as cold as it ever gets.

44 is cold when you are not used to it. My cousins are Florida natives and they came up here once for Thunder Over Louisville. It was in the 30's at night but high 40's low 50's during the day. They were all bundled up and looking at me like I was crazy cause I was only sporting a long sleeve t-shirt. it was funny.

hows the whole school thing coming?

Construction continues. I could get things done quicker ... LOL ... there is progress, but it seems a bit slow ... at least they are there daily, which is nice compared to other experiences I've had with contractors. All the woodwork in the training hall should be complete Saturday. Then we'll have a few days of paint.

Only if it was in Louisville. the guys that work at my company are all part of the Capenters Union so they could do it and much cheaper. At least you are making progress though. Ive learned that these thing are never to be rushed. when they are done, they are done and for good reasons, rushing them will only cause chaos.

Well in that case, it would probably be done better and faster, but at a much higher cost, too. I'm not rushing anything, we're just running a special while work continues ... just starting to get the word out, officially now.

thats cool.

what is the curriculum? straight Kempo? or other stuff as well?

B

Yes, it's a very aggressive kempo system. We call it "Hawaiian Kempo Jui Jitsu" ... eventually we will offer kung fu as well.
Hawaiin Kempo Jui Jitsu - how does this compare to Shaolin Kempo Karate, like what I study? What I mean is, where does it fall in comparison to the other Kempo/Kenpo systems? Is it more like Vallari's or Parker's or who evers?

Also by agressive to you mean in the way you train and teach it? or in the way the style approaches self defense?

Our background is with Villari (SKK), Demasco (Kung Fu, SKK) and Kimo (Kajukenbo). It is aggressive in self defense. We do preach avoidance, but if we have to go, it's lights out ... if you know what I mean.

thats pretty cool, we share some common elements then. Grandmaster Brassard (who is the head of our orginazation was a student of Villari)

Also, I agree with. Like they say... GO BIG OR GO HOME. I got in an argument with another student at my dojo over this, but if it comes to a fight, I say show no mercy. im not say take a life by any means, but make sure the person you are defending agaist cant get up to attack again. Thats why I want to cross train in Hung Gar, while they preach avoidance like you say, the style is devestating with powerful punches and kicks...plus is a beautiful art

Naw let go of one of my Instructors last night and another one this morning. Like I said cleaning house, they all need to be on the same page with me and run my curriculum and not some other instructor while they are here. They both seem pissed and surprise at the same time. The one this morning said that the other GM told him this would be best for my school if he did things his way. Like it is his or the other GM school. It is mine and I would like things to be done the way I teach.
