I gave up on hamburger helper when I realized it cost more per pound than the meat did - I just use macaroni and either cheese soup or Velveeta; cook the macaroni and add everything to the pan the meat was browned in. I usually add an onion and some spices - at least pepper, and usually garlic - too. Sometimes I take a pound of beef, brown it, cook a pound of macaroni, a pound of frozen vegetables, layer them in a baking pan with Velveeta (2 layers of each, with the Velveeta on the top) and bake it until the Velveeta melts. You can do the same thing with shredded cheese; Velveeta just keeps better, so I usually have some in the house.
The chicken helper is good and also the tuna.
