I'm a telecommunications engineer. It's a 24x7 industry...people's phones need to work work no matter what time it is

That sounds quite complex! Is it interesting work?
It is complex. Insanely complex sometimes. I still haven't learned all of the interoperating protocols that we use. But it is definitely interesting and it's challenging...there's no shortage of problems to solve and things to learn. It generates a lot of adrenaline. A workday can go from mundane to breakneck with one phone call. So I basically suck it up and deal with the weird hours
