It does look like I am going to have company tonight to watch the New Year come in. Usually I wouldn't stay up to watch the foolishness on TV, but my oldest 2 wanted to try and stay up. So it will be me and my 7 and 9 year old sons. I'm betting they are in bed by 10:00 at the latest.

Mine wants to stay up late as well we shall see maybe the 12 yearold but the 9-8 they will be out by 11 pm

Yeah i know what you mean. Icy roads are bad enough, but add in a bunch of drunks and home is a fantastic place to spend New Years Eve.

Good choice I'm lucky there grandparents only live a block away so we can walk which is great in itself.

Oh I'll make it. I'm never in bed much before 1 or 2 AM and usually up by 5:30 or 6 at the latest. The 7 year old is already rubbing his eyes a bit.

It wouldn't surprise me, but it hasn't changed my service or ISP address, so I'm not going to worry about it. That's just like I signed up for A T&T, and Cingular bought them... and then AT&T bought it back...

We played Monopoly over cheese and crackers--I won and got fed, a double victory! Now we're watching My Fair Lady while waiting for midnight.

Well that was odd. I was just about send a post and it couldn't find my network. Ran a quick check and somebody was trying to hack my wireless connection.

Huh... that is weird... did you get the hacker shut out?

Oh yeah he didn't get anywhere. I have a good friend that runs the network for a Defense Department Installation up here and he gave me a few tips when I set up the wireless connection for the laptop.

Well I'm going to go get a movie started for the two oldest Ruffians. They are bound and determined to make it until midnight. I told them that at midnight people celebrate with a bit of bubbly and that we should do the same, The 7 year old picked Orange Crush and the 9 year old picked Faygo Root Beer, while I plan on cracking open a nice cold Pepsi when the moment arrives. Man we are the wild party animals here.
