What concert did you see

It was the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the pianist John Kimura Parker, a terrific virtuoso who happens to hail from my old stomping grounds in Vancouver was performing a Tchaikovsky piano concerto---incredible fireworks!---he got a standing ovation that went on for a quarter of an hour---finally got him do an encore, a wonderful, very meditative kind of intepretation of a Scott Joplin rag. I've never heard anyone play SJ that way... a perfect finale to his performance---the whole thing was really inspiring!

G'mornin all! I know I'm in a different timezone, but been "working" since 0530.... Rig is shutdown today so all I'll be doing is sitting on my rear! Got a book to read but what I'm really focusing on is BIKES!

Just got my motorbike licence before coming out here this trip: now really badly want to buy one!

Any other bikers out there??

I've been considering getting my motorcycle license, but the prospect of moving back up to snow country has kind of slowed that thought.

Yeah, think you're right. You gotta have the right surroundings for a bike. At the moment I live just on the edge of town so in 2 minutes I can be out on the country roads, or 15 minutes the other direction gets me to the town centre.

What a morning, I got almost 5 hours of uninterupted sleep last night and feel as though I can take on the world. That is the best night I've had in 8 or 9 years.
