The Last Person.....

Oh boy, am I screwed. My 6 year old is sitting here playing with play-doh and making what appeared to be a great set of railroad tracks. When I told him how good they were, he looked at me with this "Oh you poor, underschooled, old man." look and proceded to tell me it was a model of DNA and he just hasn't twisted it yet. 6 years old for crying out load.

That is just priceless!

Nope, i can put a price on it. He has said from the time he was 4 he wants to be a "brain doctor" so the price will be Medical school. It is a challange though with him.

With him he has the thoughts of someone much older, but the emotions and life experence of a 6 year old. It is a struggle to help him understand what he is thinking about, and to just relax and act his age.

On a lighter note, dear dumb old Dad is making broiled pork chops, homemade baked beans, cornbread, and mashed potatoes tonight. Been smelling the beans for a little bit now and caan't wait until supper time.

A friend of mine went through a similar thing with both his sons, but he they were always great kids, just incredibly smart great kids. The youngest ended up graduating high school 2 years early and then going on to MIT with scholarships. The oldest went on to RIT with scholarships, but he did not graduate early.

My friend was finally able to slow the youngest down in college and get him to understand he was already younger than everyone else there. His son wanted to go into some accelerated program at MIT and Dad said no, your only young once so be young for a change and he listened.

The kids turned out alright though and seem very happy today and MIT and RIT did not cost my friend much at all. SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS for smart kids.

The youngest is now pursuing his MS degree in Economics and the Oldest is pursuing his PhD in Some type of Engineering I never heard of before.

WOW!!... I just realized how OLD that makes me sound.

Brian, Mancinos make a decent grinder as well. Don't know if you guys have one in Alma or not though. I think they are mostly along the Western side of the state.
