I have to go to Montreal this weekend ☹️ I don't like Montreal. Was looking forward to going to go to a Wing Chun Demo and a buffet lunch with my Wing Chun sifu and the rest of his students..... but sadly, this came up and I am off to Montreal :(

I have to make the best of it... I guess on the upside, at least I can get good Chinese food there

Ate in Montreal Chinatown today… the only redeeming thing about this city… good baozi, and cha siu
We are driving back to Seattle from AZ. Closing on a second house down in Sun City West on Wednesday. We are very excited to be able to spend more time close to my parents. I’m going to head back down in a couple weeks for my 55th birthday and my dad’s 90th.

My friend, I am so happy to be retired. I encourage you to join me! 😀

I've got an idea for a combo in my head, and no one to test it with. Head back to NY every few months, but was just there last week, so it's gonna be a minute before I go back. Since I'm not working I can't afford the muay Thai place here for a bit, and all my students are too new for me to really test with pressure - I can test, but I don't know if it's working because it's a good move, or if it's working because they don't have the skill to stop it yet.

General idea is when someone throws a jab to keep distance or recover stamina, and you've got a mirrored stance, jab back to follow/chase their jab. Then if they've got their other hand protecting (which they should) turn the jab into an essentially overhand elbow. From there, depending on how they react either a clinch and knee, or a leg sweep, should flow pretty nicely. In my head I can see it working very well. But I need training partners at a good level to actually test it.

Anyone here able to give that a go in sparring/drill it and see how it goes? @Tony Dismukes @drop bear tagging you two since I feel like you've both got the ability to test new things fairly easily.
