I think my foot might be up to some kata tonight. Nothing dramatic, just run through every one slowly trying to use good technique

I wish my ankle was healed. I’m 3 weeks off so far because I can only do basic Chin na without my right foot working to hold me. I’m still teaching but from the side line.

I thought you were quiet. I assumed you’d given up martial arts and taken up ballet because you like the tights and stuff 😐

What’ve you done to your ankle?

Too much of a good thing is still a good thing.
But it does tend to wear you down.
Well I find that hard to believe.....says the guy who broke his ankle 3 times, trained with braces on every joint possible, has one fake knee and one they want to replace, arthritis in about every joint...and don't get me started on eye issues....... I just don't see how it can wear you down ;)

Oh pooey. You will be in my prayers, if you're into that.
Did my chin workout, ran through my kata once, did some knuckle pushups and held a wall squat for 2 minutes. Baby steps.

“Eye issues.” “Don’t see how it can wear you down.”

I see what you did there. And got me to do it, too. 🤗

It’s not possible for me to be quiet. I give up martial arts when they scatter my ashes. You clearly don’t get me, it’s who is wearing those tights at ballet class. Same reason I took aerobic kickboxing at the community college 20 years ago. Same reason that my contribution to slang is “YOGA PANTS!”. Same reason I ended up married to a Yoga instructor 12 years my junior. Shall I go on? Now on to your question. I have subtalar synovitis and peroneal tendonitis. Not perineal tendonitis, although I’ve tried to get that one several times during the above mentioned. I’m improving with the usual physical therapy, ice, NSAIDS, not training, elevating, etc. Thanks for asking. Look up your local dance class, you have footwork in your favor and you may find that other males don’t have a clue where to find the local athletic beauties.

I briefly dated a ballerina many years ago.....yeah...you're right... and absolutely the most graceful Shaolin Long Fist I ever saw... could have watched her for hours

Yes…you.

Hmmm yes I’m building up an image that suggests you should be placed on that ‘special register’ 😳

I didn’t need to look either of those up and immediately knew what they were. Sounds like time will be the best healer.

If I did, it’d be a case of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ 😪

I’ve often wonder how well all these ‘hip hop’ and ‘break dancers’ would take to the martial arts. Their extreme athletic abilities would give them such an advantage.

MA training can help me to become a good dancer. I don't know the other way around is true or not.

I was a folk dancing instructor in Taiwan. During college, I won A Go Go champion in competition. I didn't get to the silver level in ballroom dancing. It just cost too much. My favor ballroom dancing is Tango, quick Waltz, and Swing.

Bruce Lee thought Dancers would be good at martial arts
One of our schools is beside a dance studio in the same strip mall. We regularly have kids and young adults migrate from one school to the other. Usually, there is a rather steep acclimation in stance and footwork to get over, but the dancers are fit and very limber. Changing some of the 'muscle memory' can be a challenge, but they make great students because they are used to training in a structured environment and willing to sweat.

I don’t no much about dancing, but is their footwork anywhere near as precise as required in, say Koroddy?

Assuming that is a pun for Karate, Yes, the footwork in ballet, gymnastics, and even modern dance is rather precise.
