I used the planks on the right to climb the Damn Dam, @gpseymour ran and jumped in the middle.

Ah yep "Ishi no ue ni sannen" is Japanese (although it almost doesn't look like it now that I'm reading it...), it's a saying within Kyokushin karate (my former style), although not sure if it was derived from elsewhere, or whether Sosai Oyama came up with it. I actually think it used to be "1 year", but Sosai changed it to 3 just to emphasise it's meaning haha. Think I read that somewhere...
It implies an unfaltering devotion and focus, perseverance and determination. A directness of intention that nothing can sway. Moreso in a spiritual sense rather than a stubbornness or even worldly goals. Hence, “Three years on a rock.”
Something about it I just really, really love. For me it just conjures up an image of someone out in the middle of the ocean, storms raging around them, waters are turbulent, and there's a very small, lone rock peaking up out of the water with someone standing on it. But not out of abandonment, or out of trying to just survive or victimhood, but out of training and utmost total dedication to the way. I love the willingness and sincerity of it.

I don't see a Warrior Dash or a Tough Mudder in Hawaii. The closest there is is in California. So... you pretty much have to come with us. I am sure it's a federal law.
Stranger things have happened. I’m currently in contact with dog breeders in CA, looking for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy. Probably be going there to get one.
