When a student can't/won't do a particular aspect of the curriculum?

Right. I would never expect a TKD Master to know grappling at depth. Oh, they may have practiced a little, and know some holds and flow drills, but, that is not integral to TKD, right?

Now, however, if someone is a TKD Master and cannot do some kick , then, in my mind, something is very wrong. And don't say age is such a factor. I have seen the mature Masters do the kicks, so age has been ruled out in my mind regarding that.

If someone cannot do some of the kicks, then perhaps they will still become 1st Dan, I can see how that could happen. But there is a point, at least in my mind (transition from 2 Dan to 3 Dan?) where it has to stop, if there are motions that the student cannot do.
