I'd love to get back into it too. I'm still trying to get into shape, in order to get into shape (if that makes sense. lol) But, if I get to a point where I don't think Ill be too much of an embarassment, I'll pop in. I just can't afford too much, which really narrows down my choices nowadays.
(insert sound of bat wings flapping) Drac is back...CSI was a repeat so we busied ourselves taking the Christmas tree down..The cats are happy again as they can stare out the front window...
Wise scholar say "person who wait until in shape to work out, never work out". I'd take her up on it!
Tueday evening (out for me, I work)
Friday morning at 9am
Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.
The Saturday class is an open class, but I've been doing all Kali. Mike Williams throws in a little bit of Silat for the more advanced students but its way above my head![]()

Hi Drac, what's up?
Better than being on your head.(remembering some silat training)![]()
Can you strictly Kali on Saturdays, or is there more to the class?
Just "chillin" bro...Get my flight to Denver all set for April and my step-daughter who is a big shot at Budget Rent-a-Car is getting me a reduced rate on an SUV...
Wooot!!! Vacation for Drac?
Just "chillin" bro...Get my flight to Denver all set for April and my step-daughter who is a big shot at Budget Rent-a-Car is getting me a reduced rate on an SUV...Hock Hochheim is havein a 2 day police judo class here at our only Post academy places..
Sounds good! Judging by the Denver has been getting whacked with snow, you might really need it, even in April.
It varies. Most recently, its been about 80% Kali.
The way Guro Mike runs the class...we all break up into pairs. He will start teaching us something, we do it, then he teaches us something else...the students that can move on, do. The students that need to stay where they are, stay.
Mike always starts with Kali. He gets in to the Silat later on in class. The folks that can follow along with the Silat do so, the folks that don't/can't follow, stay with the Kali.
In many ways its a relaxed place. Everyone progresses at their own pace. There isn't any pressure to perform....plus we don't have uniforms or belt ranks.![]()
