Oh God, thats even worse, having to come back after a week.

I know officers that will take their 4 weeks at one time and have almost a full month off..I hate to return after one week, after 4 weeks it would be very difficult...

Yeah, a full month does sound nice, although, I'd much rather split it up. I also get 3 personal days in addition to my vac. time. Its always nice to have those to fall back on.

I'm with you, splitting them up is better..We get 2 personal days that we can take almost anytime EXCEPT when manpower is low..We also have 10 holidays in addition to vacations that require a 5 day advance request and is subject to manpower...

Vacaion days can be approved on the same day as the request, as long as its 8 hrs prior to the shift you're working. Personal days up to 4 hrs and sick up to 1 hr. Now, he is the part that makes no sense. 2 people can't take a vac day on the same day on the same shift, but one person can take a vac. day and the other can take a personal. So, I ask you...why can't 2 vac days be granted? 2 people are still going to be off, right? I've asked and never really got a straight answer. Go figure.
