Back from training. It sucked. The material itself was good, but it was WAY too much crammed into one day. And my program's funding source expects us to implement this program in October. I am really not liking my job right about now...grumble...

Sorry to hear about that. What is it that you do Swordlady?

My official title is "therapeutic counselor", but for all intents and purposes, I still consider myself to be a social worker.

Terry, it's not just about what my supervisor wants. Our mayor - of all people - was the one who affected all of the program changes. And the thing about social services programs is that if the funding source doesn't get the results they want, they can cut the funding and kiss the program goodbye. But the expectations they are giving us aren't realistic, and the training today was largely rushed and not very helpful.

I apologize for not getting into more detail, but I'm posting from work right now.

I have been in that spot before when someone wants to implement something that they know nothing about and then you have some training that does not meet your needs and you are expected to implement a policy that simply will never work. Yes, I have been stuck in that position a couple of times and it is never fun. (I feel your pain)

It is often just the way the world works. Yes, Drac I have had it happen in a law enforcement capacity way back in the day! I have also had it happen in the business world. (multiple times)
