My oldest daughter (9 year old) earned her blue belt, and my youngest (6 years old) earned her orange belt.

I don't think I could have been more nervous for them, in fact it was more nerve wrenching than my own test (which I also passed last night, and now am sporting a beautiful orange belt as well).

The best part of TKD so far, doing it as a family. There is nothing I look forward more to in life than twice a week classes, and studying with my children. In todays world where divorce rates are so high, and families often don't have time to spend with each other, TKD has done nothing but bring my family closer together.

Awsome! :ultracool

PS: I am getting into TKD so much that I have actually considered turning the garage into a mini-gym. The cars can sit outside, they don't need the space. :p

I agree. I have seen families come closer and more respect built between generations. In both directions! That is a very nice thing, IMO! Congrats on your belts.

A family that kicks together stays together, Congrats

I couldn't agree with this statement more... And yes! There's nothing like kicking a bag (or person in gear) around. Great stress reliever!

Congrats to you and your girls...I know a lot of people that have converted their garages into mini dojangs and left their cars outside..

A family that kicks together sticks together. :)

CONGRATULATIONS!

I am suggesting a new TKD saying:

"A family that blocks together flocks together."

or

"A family that punches together bunches together."

or

"Families should sweat together to get together."

I guess I better not quit my day job..... :)

I personally like all the sayings, even if they are a bit corny.

Yep, I think for the holidays this year I will invest in a nice 100 pound kick bag and hang it in the garage. Maybe even buy some soft matting for the floor. I only have 1 car anyway, so I could always convert 1/2 the garage into a gym.

Thanks for all the congrats everyone, my family and I are rather stoked about our new hobby.
