But you do know where the renaming of animals from pasture to table comes from.....

What renaming? I just never understood the redundancy of terms like "tuna fish" or "deer meat" or "hamburger meat." It's tuna. It's deer. It's hamburger (or ground beef).
Just curious about the reasons for the redundancy, and whether it's consistent across foods or limited to a few.

To much sweat stuff (cookies, candy, cake) around my office........

even more confusing when Hamburger doesn't even have ham in it

LOL, not Tuna Fish, although....some might think it's chicken...

I mean, how does a cow become beef?
Deer - Venison
Pig - Pork
etc.
The deal is that in 1066 some French dude hopped the canal and overtook England.
Now the upper crust spoke French, the peasants were 'English' speaking Anglo Saxons.
So when the peons grew the critter, it was English, when it went to the manner for dinner, it became boeuf, a ram into mutton....
Interestingly enough, French remained the language of the court for over 400 years.....

Always gotta be so complicated...

Imo,

Cow - meat
Pig - meat
Deer - meat
Other animals not mentioned - meat

I'm done for the week.....can't take all the sweat stuff
