don't know if they're gunna do surgery - i gotta go back to the hospital :( sooo not looking forward to that one.

might be just 10weeks in plaster and hope for the best either way i think my fighting days are numbered can't see it being strong enough to withstand the forces involved now that it's busted :(

might have to apply for a coaching certificate instead -- that'd be a nice change but some of the fun would be lost for me doing that though :( swings and roundabouts methinks..............

well, showed my friend how to do a virus scan (found 3 cooties), clean the cache and cookies (nearly 8000 items) and do a boot scan....Waiting to hear how it turned out for her....to my estimation, it should speed up her machine some.

The other day the transmission on my car went, so had it towed into a specialist. He rough quoted me that it will cost minimum 2.5k, but likely around 3.

After much crying i went home. Get a call with great news, it's a hose that came off draining the fluid and causing the issue no replacement transmission needed, so we just need to remove the transmission and fix it, will take a few days.

2.2k later I have newly fitted hose to my transmission line or something or rather. luck i didn't have to pay 2.5.

Glad you paid less then expected but wth do you drive for it to be that expensive for a hose replacement and labor?

I have a little Hyundai Getz, I drive about 3 hours a day to and from work so can't be with out it.

Was that a dealer that did the work or a third party?

Well just glad you got your car back for cheaper then you expected in a timely matter.

I was expecting around 900, nearly fell off my chair when they said 2.2, but I'm thinking there would have been a lot of damage to other parts as a result, and they still did have to take it out. Which I will assume is not an easy job. They were recommended by a close friend who knows the guy etc... so didn't will give them the benefit of the doubt, plus I have no idea.

Well probably legit then if it was a recommendation of a friend

holy crap you paid 2200 for a hyundai getz box --- you got well and truly ripped off my friend.

max price for getz box is 750 add in 2 hours labour charges for taking old one out and putting new one in and it should've cost less than 1000 all in.

i hope they fitted a fully slipping differential in that box for you considering what you've paid and what did they use for bolts --- titanium ones ?????

they saw you coming bigtime.............

Yeah, I did feel that way. But in Australia, double the price on everything. I have contacted a few places and it seems to be the average.
