Here is a letter from KKW VP GM SONG, Sang Keun announcing that the Kukkiwon is sending instructors to Dallas TX for a 2 day seminar to teach the standardized poomsae.

November 5, 2008

Dear Grandmasters, Masters and Dojang Owners,

The Kukkiwon, which as you know is the World Taekwondo Headquarters, would like
to extend an invitation for you and your instructors to attend the Kukkiwon
Poomsae Seminar that will be held in Dallas, TX from December 6-7, 2008.

The goal of the seminar is to globally standardize the official Kukkiwon Poomsae, which will help your school offer more value for your students,
as well as give them the opportunity to participate in future World Taekwondo
Hanmadangs.

The seminar will be lead by the World Taekwondo Academy Kukkiwon, who has vast
amounts of knowledge and experience.

I hope everyone can take advantage of this opportunity and I look forward to
meeting everyone in Dallas.

For those who are planning on doing the Hanmadang in Chicago next year or for those who wish to keep current with the KKW system of forms, this is an excellent opportunity to learn from some of the best.

Needless to say (but should be said anyway... if that makes sense), detailed accounts and impressions of the seminar will be much appreciated by the rest of us who can't make it! :)

... and of course, any videos shot there would be very welcome...

I unfortunately can't make it there. That happens to be my wife's birthday weekend, plus I am slated to coordinate another tournament that Sunday. I am very bummed about it because I was looking forward to see a lot of people there.

Man, I wish it wasn't so soon, there just isn't a way for me to plan to go out of town that quickly. As others have said, I can't wait to hear what those who get to go experienced.

Miles, how did you receive this information?

I belong to a list-serve called TKD-Net.

That sound's like a useful list. I have not been on a listserv for probably 15 years or more. Can you tell us how to subscribe or whom to contact?
