Ah well, perhaps a bobcat that isnāt moving and looks like it might be dead, is just trying to go un-noticed. Best to just walk on by.Nope, never ever shoot yourself dry.

Bet it was snoozing. They sleep soundly, surprisingly enough.Ah well, perhaps a bobcat that isnāt moving and looks like it might be dead, is just trying to go un-noticed. Best to just walk on by.

If A dojo teaches nonsense that doesnāt help a student learn to defend themselves itās a McDojo.Calling somebody else's dojo a mcdojo, on this forum or anywhere else, I would like to point out that's very offensive. A dojo where somebody has invested their time and dedication, to bash their dojo is very bad manners. Im saying this because I've experienced some of that on this forum myself.
I understand your sentiment, but there are many ālegitimate martial artsā that wonāt help the student consistently defend themselves against an uncooperative, fully-resisting, aggressive assailant. If A dojo teaches nonsense that doesnāt help a student learn to defend themselves itās a McDojo.
So.... according to you, every Kenjutsu school is a McDojo? It's not exactly useful for defending yourself in todays world. If A dojo teaches nonsense that doesnāt help a student learn to defend themselves itās a McDojo.

Mider was attempting to put together a definition of McDojo but perhaps it was unintentionally simplistic. Perhaps adding a phrase such as āā¦.useful in the context of the artās time and placeā mightāve extended itās usefulness a little!So.... according to you, every Kenjutsu school is a McDojo? My teacher sometimes says that anyone can kill with a sword and without any training: itās a 72cmish razor blade after all! Iād suggested anyone can chase off an assailant with a bokuto, without any training as itās essentially a large club!šWorked alright for me last time someone tried to do a home invasion - chased him off with my bokken.

Define nonsense. If A dojo teaches nonsense that doesnāt help a student learn to defend themselves itās a McDojo.
Rather than me presenting a list and risk offending the practitioners of a particular artā¦a gentleman and a (retired) scholar would never do such a thingā¦ perhaps a thought experiment that allows one to draw-up ones own list is in order?List?
FYI, presenting such a list would constitute art bashing and would thus be against the rules of this website. Kudos to Gyakuto for refraining from specifying which arts would be on such a list in his opinion.List?
