Back from watching "Wickerman".

A little different than the original. Some ways it's better, and otherways it's not as good. But all in all a pretty good flick.

Okay what a day! Couple of private lessons to start the day off!

Then off to work.

Then over to pick up the kids and get this, the principal at my youngest kid's school was kinda rude today. Note that I have had a fantastic relationshiip with this principal for nearly 7 years and the way that I do things when I pick up my kids has always been okay before. Well today after years of doing this apparently they have decided to be confrontational just to me when I pick up my kid and sign him out today. Not anyone else but just me. I go in about 8 minutes early sign the sign out form and head down to my childs classroom. This way I get to watch the last few minutes of class say hi to the teacher and then head right out the door with my youngest as the bell rings. (mind you about 30 other parents do this as well ) This saves me about 8 - 15 minutes that it takes them to bring the kids down and get them to my car if I wait in the car lineup. Now here is the crux of why I do this and why the other 30 or so parents do it as well. We all have other kids in other schools in the district and we all have to run across town (sometimes it takes up to 15 or 20 minutes depending on traffic) That means that if I wait in the line with my car my oldest may be stuck sitting outside for up to 30 minutes. Only 15 of which is really supervised. (After 15 or so minutes they basically look at the kids go inside and then call you telling you to get your butt over there) Needless to say the principal (who has always been sweet to me) said that if I checked him out early he would be truant. (at this point I thought well maybe that private school down the road is the next step) Now, I let her finish the speal and I said well I am not going to walk out of the doors until 3:05 but I am still going to go down and see how everything is going. (This was all happening as several good friends in the office were watching dumb founded at the exchange :erg:) She did not have anything to say after that and said okay that would work. (so we ended up exactly where would have been) Now here is the crux. I teach art for my sons class, bend over backwards to help them out and do all of those extra things for his teacher. I go on field trips, if they need someone to read I am there in a heartbeat. If they need an extra set of hands I also will take the morning or afternoon off of work to go in and help out. Whatever they need I bend over backwards to help out. Last year I helped teach science in my oldest son's class. So as a parent I am working pretty hard to help them out and help my children out. (In other words I am involved but not pushy) All I want is to be able to get my kid out of the school on time and pick up the other one so that he is not left unsupervised! Is That to much to ask?

After this it was a quick dinner soccer practice in two different cities for each child run home get dressed and head out the door to train/teach. (which was absolutely fantastic) Now I am here venting! (sorry

:soapbox:

Like I said before I have never had this happen to me but have seen them do it once last year to another mom. (it is like russian roulete, okay it is his turn :whip: ) I am just letting it go but it still was not handled the best on their end.

Brian, it looks like Lisa got to the principal to me.

Probably having a bad day and took it out on you.

I was thinking the exact thing in that how did Lisa know I would be there at this time. I mean it must be her fault right!

As for the principal I am sure she is under stress it is the second day of school and believe me I see here every school day and we always get along great. (she is a good principal) However, she needs to understand that she doesn't need to make problems. Roll with the flow and take on problems rather than creating them.

Needless to say it is over and done! I ranted and now it is time to move on!
