And good evening LPT,
I guess I just need to vent a little bit. I'm depressed. I have my first Arnis class tomorrow after a month long break (I took the break because we were broke). While I've been looking forward to going back all month, now I'm worried about how rusty my sinwali's are, but more so I am worried about how I can barely afford the need new sticks I need and my teacher may expect me to test this month, which I can't afford at all. Argh!
Why can't I just go to class... buy new sticks when I need them... be able to test when I'm ready, not when I can afford to...
Well, now I'm just throwing myself a pitty party. To whoever is out there, thanks for letting me vent.

This is as good a place as any to let it all out. So I say go ahead, get it off your chest. Don't worry that any of us may think you a a whiney little brat, who cares. Just keep in mind that you are on a message board, and using a computer to list your issues. You should know as well as anybody that computers are electronics, and they are not very fond of moisture. Remember to ask your fellow LPTers to keep thier tears under control as they read your whines, for we are very emotional and compationate people.

Just kidding of course. If you can't afford to test, the instructor should understand and find other ways to take care of it. Same with the sticks. Maybe you can offer to clean the training center to pay off the fees ... how about that?

I've been doing arnis since the mid-80s, and I'll just say: Stick with it, dude. Eyes on the prize! practice at home when you have no cash. Beat a tree into submission. Just keep on keepin' on!

That would be fine. We have Chosei Motobu coming in next month for a seminar, we're Kempo however, I see you're Aikido.

That's okay. I would like to watch. I like and respect all of the arts, and they have something that I can learn for my own personal ideas outside of my art.

Ain't that the truth, I feel the same. Too bad more people don't. And besides, Kempo as an art, incorporates some Aikido, at least the strain of the art I study does.

Well...had a great start yesterday morning. The parking pass wouldn't let me in, when checked, they said it was normal. It didn't let me out either. The professor for the first class didn't show up due to heavy partying over the long weekend. And I have a class that's all about happy happy joy joy crap. We all have to speak alot, be friends, or as the prof. (his 1st class ever) says one big happy family. Meeting, talking, interviewing...good lord! Something against my personality, against my thoughts about how a class should go, and something DEFINITELY not thought good of coming off a night shift every day. But, serves me right. I Should've taken care of this years ago. Now, I just gotta suck it up and deal, no matter how much I DESPISE it.
