Long story short, my mother and stepfather are here, and my mother asked my stepfather to fix something I have let go for 2 years (because I don't care about it) and because he's a perfectionist, after 30 minutes of advice and looking for parts (which could have been done in less than 5 minutes), I told him to quit, because I was tired of listening to him ask for, and then reject, professional advice about how to fix the ice maker on my fridge... bearing in mind that I use so little ice that it tends to evaporate between uses. But it's all my fault because he was trying to help me and I was insufficiently grateful, and, according to my mother, he hasn't had the chance to help someone recently, so I should have put up with him being nitpicky about something I didn't care about that nearly made me late to teach my TKD class, to make him feel better.
