I'm sure this is not the only training these people are getting

I sure hope not....

However, PR stunts aside (and I have no doubt that is exactly what we are looking at)
Sheriffs departments do have often a spot for the eager civilian volunteer. The one one county over has a mounted posse. The members do have to undergo training with and without firearms.

Well that is the way Xingyiquan looks at it...:hmm: but it is not the way Aikido looks at it

How do you get an Aikidoka to top beating you up?
Stop attacking....

Actually, not all true. Aikido does have ways of attacking first. We call it 'irimi'. Irimi may be in response to an attack but can also be an attack. :asian:
