MMA fighter found dead

Yes I just saw that. So sad!

That stinks, I heard it on the radio this morning, they are looking into it as a murder/suicide.

The murder-suicide thing has me wondering: is this a similar case to Chris Benoit's "roid rage"?

It's always possible but I think I recall the Benoit thing having a little more to do with the numerous concussions that Chris had suffered over the years causing some brain damage. Of course, it's always possible that that's what happened here. I'll be interested to see how this story develops.

Definitely sad for the "murder" part of the equation. For the "suicide" half, I don't know. It depends on what happened. The one who pulled the trigger might be guilty as sin. Without more information you just can't say.

I don't see how the UFC can be blamed for any part of this, while tragic the guy was NOT a stellar fighter and only fought twice in the UFC about 2 years ago and hasn't fought anywhere in over a year.

Here is his fight record from Sherdog.

Sorry about the mess, it was all lined up when I put it into the quote function. Not sure what happened. His overall record was 9-8, including his last five fights as losses. Maybe that added alot of stress to it going from a 7-0 start to 9-8 has got to be disheartening.

Punisher, you're right of course. Much goes on in the lives of people close to us that we don't know about so how much so is it of people we don't know!
Until an inquest (I think you have them too?) is held we won't know the facts and we may never know what state of mind these people were in. it says it may be murder and suicide and everyone assumes it was he who killed her then himself, it may well be the other way around you know! It also may have been a suicide pact, it may well have been none of these.
