Any good books/resources to get me started researching pressure points, anatomy, ect?

Or psychology?

Contemporary Knife Targeting: Modern Science vs. W.E. Fairbairn's Timetable by Christopher Grosz and Michael Janich

Essential Anatomy for Healing and Martial Arts by Marc Tedeschi

Tedeschi takes a look at anatomy, pressure points, sensitive points, and vulnerable points from both a traditional Chinese medicinal and a modern Western scientific perspective, comparing, contrasting, and blending the two. Very interesting.

Grosz and Janich use actual medical research and case history to dispel many false notions about vulnerable points, the results of knife injuries, and the psychology of fighting and injuries.

Also, and I've been saying this for decades, martial artists should jump feet first into the wide research pool of firearms psychology research. Firearms for Self Defense and LEO research is about a decade ahead of most martial art. Or more, depending on the art and instructor - it could be the martial artist is, literally, centuries behind. The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker or pretty much anything by Ayoob are probably good places to start.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk
