When you’re old enough they will send you a book of geezer guidelines… then you’ll be ready

There is another option as well in if living in the woods, and this one is in my DNA.. true story.

My great grandmother was a petite little woman in her 90s, living by herself, in the woods. Kids started showing up near her house at night making all sorts of racket trying to scare her. She went outside… with her shotgun… yelled at the to get out of here and fired off a round. The kids left at high speed and never came back.
I believe that the appropriate phrase is "gerrof moi laaaaaarnd"

I'm reminded for some reason of the ill fated Eddie Bauer Inc expedition in the Congo where two American had to kayak a mile down the river after a 15 foot long crocodile ate their guide. It was a pretty big deal back around 2010 or so when it happened.

Found a link. Crazy story, if anyone's interested. Kayakers detail crocodile tragedy

no worries, I mess mine up all the time do to vision issues looking at computer screens. I proof read generally more than once. and It is pretty easy to tell when I post without proof reading.
I am always multitasking with 3-4 screens going at the same time and my hands get ahead my head quite often.
My code compilers do a good job of catching errors but my forum comments definitely lack polish sometimes.

Multitasking? Not something I'm capable of doing in any capacity. But I'm retired, sooooo....

Speaking of that, when are you going to punch your last timecard?
Still looking at early 2027. Could do now, but there is a possibility of a transfer in a positive direction heading my way. Out of where i am, to a new office building, with free parking, closer to my home, in an all gov office. With that comes another possibility, although not as likely, of a 2 grade promotion.

The gov unit i am now in just got another unit attached to them that the director of that ubit know knows nothing about it. , They recently found out, my supervisor(who will retire sometime in the next 6 months) told them, what that unit does has been one of my main responsibilities for the last 20 years.

If they leave me where i am it will more likely be retirement time in 2026.

But i will admit, I like having the retirement option anytime time i choose.
