Streets Of Mogadishu by COL. Danny McKnight​

Great book from the perspective of COL. McKnight who was the Ranger leader on the ground during the events of Black Hawk Down. He discusses the fantastic bravery of the Rangers under his command, excellent leadership, and also the stupid decisions made by politicians in Washington. If you're interested in some real military history from the perspective of a leader and warrior who was in the thick of it, I highly recommend it. COL. McKnight doesn't hold back either on how politics hindered their mission.

I am currently reading Bernardo Kastrup's Analytic Idealism in a Nutshell. Kastrup's careful defusing of scientific materialism in this volume is amazing.

Current read: The Plantagenets by Dan Jones

Really great book on the kings and queens of England during the high Middle Ages. This book covers some famous names such Richard I, King John, and Edward I. The author does a great job at making it exciting while you learn about history. If you're into the Middle Ages, I definitely recommend this book.

I'm trying to find copies of a Muso Shinden Ryū text which I'll cross-check with my sensei. Published in the 60s... author's name began with M... it escapes me!

And an overpriced text on data science applications using Python. I want to find the gentleman who thought Jupyter Notebooks were a good idea and have a stern word with him.

Curious what everyone is reading. I finished Ronda Rousey's book 'My Fight/Your Fight'.
Currently reading 'No Easy Day'. It's about the Navy Seals pursuit and killing of Osama Bin Laden. Good read!

On my desk right now are these books which I pick up and read infrequently:

Iyengar's yoga book
Taoist Yoga
Blurred Boundaries (about martial arts in taiwan)

Blurred Boundaries, and Iyengar's book are classics in my opinion. Taoist Yoga.... not so much, but, some may find it interesting. I find it somewhat sensationalist (populist) and not at all a work of authentic secrecy, but, it may help in some small ways.

I haven't finished any of them yet!

I'm reading a book "Technology invades the modern world". A guy time travels back to the 60 and become the head of NASA. He then travels back to the 21st century and reproduce man land on moon.

I just can't understand that we can land on the moon 60 years ago. But today, we just can't do it. Something is wrong here.

How do you like Dune Messiah? I have only read the first book.

It's very good. Naturally an extension of Dune, a few years after Paul's ascension. Alia has a cult following which he contends with, and the story so far focuses on Paul's adjustment to his prescience and identity as a living God, with too few people he can trust despite leading an empire of trillions.

It's required reading if you're really into the Duneiverse, as are Herbert's other books set after Messiah, which I'm looking forward to reading!

I like to have a worsening book on the go as well as an improving book. I've been given a load of my erstwhile employers' collection of science fiction, fantasy and horror by his wife, so I'm reading through 'cujo' by Stephen King.

After his death, he travels back in time and reborn, In his new life, he has 17 wifes, becomes the richest person on earth (even Bill Gates bought Window 98 from him). He even owns his star in the galaxy.
