Ten or twenty years ago you'd be lucky to even get footage like this... now-a-days with seemingly everyone having a video cam the chances of seeing stuff like this are much higher.
In my mind it does strike home the seriousness of various (natural) disasters that some people shrug off, vids like these will in the long run save lives.
