Training stories abound..I attended a class once and met up with a fellow officer who is from the Isshan-Ryu system..We talked about the good old days of training on wooden floors with the cira 1980 hand and foot protection which wasn't much..THEN walking across the heavy padded may he trip over his own feet and sprains his ankle...
I want to have some meaning for my 6000 post so bear with me.
Last October I had my heart attact to be able to still train and coach at my school, I also coach my two youngest son's football team three nights a week.
The doctor said I needed to cut back on the physical exorcises and get more rest, well after a year I'm doing more today and feeling better than I did two years ago. Just goes to show everybody although I train everyday and do all the running around that the DR. said I should slow up doing I'm a better man today than I was a year ago.
I have only lost 16 pounds in a year instead of the forty he wanted but I figure at my rate by the time 2012 comes I will at there expected wieght.
Enough about me lets get back to meaningless converstation.

That must of said alot without saying, karma has it ways of bitting people when they least expect it.

Waaaaay back in the basic academy we were doing 1 officer with 2 suspects drills..I block the first guys punch and deliver a bracical stun (light touch) and he goes down..I deal with the 2nd suspect and put him down..As I'm cuffing
I don't hear the first guy say to the Instructor and the class "I have shrugged off the effects of the stun and am going to attack the officer from behind..He has a serious Texas/Hillbilly accent..All I feel is hands grabbing me from behind and I react with an elbow thrust behind and because I'm kneeling Its a shouldder toss to fininsh.."Hey" , he drawled..you almost broke my freaking neck"..The Instructor was unsympathetic and the whole class laughed...

You just have to love those smartass types of people, you can really have fun with them
