I can believe that about Kittery. Those people are crazy when it comes to prices. Anyplace along Rt.1 they think is an automatic gold mine. York (God I hate that little place) is a good place to stay away from as well, too many tourists and the locals have a real bad attitude toward anybody from "away".

I've heard that as well. One of the fellows that I work with bought a place up in York...I was surprised at how freaking cold those folks are up there.

A lot depends on what the bank says too...that could get scary.....

I did a bunch of work down there a few years ago and I just wanted to get it done and get out of town after the first day. I put in 1- 16 hour day and 2- 18 hour days just so I could get out faster. Any follow up work we did down there, I always stayed in another town and spent the smallest amount of time in York itself.

If you are looking to buy a place in NH, be sure to check out what the property tax history is on the place. My brothers property taxes have more than tripled in the past 5 years on his home, it is a brand new home so it isn't like he has done any improvements to it.

Man, York sounds like bad news!

Hey NewGuy! :)

York is......very deceptive. It's a very pretty town on the coast of southern Maine. Its right on the ocean and its only about an hour from Boston, so every summer the people there get clobbered by people from Massachusetts that want to....get away from Massachusetts for a bit. (Guilty as charged) :o

Trouble is....it seems to go past "tourist-fatigue" for a lot of people that live there. A lot of very bad examples of New England provincialism...if y'aren't from there, then ya don't belong there ayup. :D

Doing great up here. Trying to keep the ruffians away from their candy haul from last night is a chore though. Man they made a killing on the candy.

I'm with you mine too all they want is more candy.

Haha! Those kids will eat all of that candy in one sitting if they are allowed to!
:uhohh:
Carol, you'd better steer clear of that York, Maine, from what has been posted!

Mine are like little addicts looking for their next sugar rush. The 6 year old this afternoon was trying his level best to convince me he NEEDED a Pepsi to wash down a candy bar.

Guess they really do take after me. Sounds like something I would have pulled at his age. :)
