I know exactly what you mean. When I got here in Korea last month and started my Tang Soo Do class, it was the first time in 3yrs that I stepped foot in a MA class. Oh was I sore a week or so, but it was a lot of fun to get back into it.

exactly, I love being back into it. Ive been back in my sparring class for about a month now and Im very pleased, sparring is my favorite thing, but the day after my first class back I was hating myself

Yeah, my master isn't big on sparring and that is one of my fav things to do also. When we do sparr, we barely hit each other. Oh I guess I should add that we don't use any gear, that's one reason why we don't "Sparr." It's fun the way he does it other than as the attacker it's very easy to get side tracked. Plus he normally does it 2 on 1.

HEY KG06, How ya been??? Where ya been?? Yes, the people have been good to me..
Ive been good. As to where Ive been, I was out injured and sick for a while, I also had switched positions at my current job so I was no longer near a computer. But Im better and Im back, I missed MT

Im mended for the most part thanks, just some issues with my knees. But after some recovery time and a little weight loss they are getting better. I have a steep goal this summer, I plan to drop about 35 - 40 pounds which should help me greatly.

Quick Question, Can any of you give me any advice on motivating someone? I have a guy in my class that is just not motivated. I am trying to teach him the forms, and he just has that look on his face like he doesn't care. I'm not the only that notices it. When MBuzzy was helping him, he did the same thing, but yet he still comes to class. I know that a lot of people come to classes here on base to just get a workout, but this is a different case. I don't know, I'm clueless. I try to help him and encourage him that he is doing good. Just curious as to what ya'll think!!

Show him bunkai ... how the form relates to the street, to the techniques being taught. Once he realizes that the forms are more than a dance, he may change the way he looks at them. Also stress the importance of other aspects of forms, they build strength, teach proper breathing, build endurance ... if done correctly, of course.

Give the forms meaning -- if that can't be done, maybe it should be considered that the form be omitted from the curriculum.

Tired! We went to see the midnight showing of Fantastic Four 2 last night, at my son's insistence. We all thought it was a little better done than the first, but I found the increased attempts at humor, esp. related to the wedding and centering around R.R., to be distracting. They threw off the feel of the rest of the film. I wasn't all that pleased. Expect a comment on Guantanamo Bay in the film too. Also, Dr. Doom just wasn't an intimidating presence. Overall, great effects and good action but a disappointment nonetheless.
