Just working away, Kacey. How about you?

I was having a great day, until my dog decided to steal another, smaller dog's ball and eat it... the emergency vet said it's okay to wait until his regular vet is open tomorrow, but the ball is sitting in his stomach; they tried to make him vomit it up, but it wouldn't come out, so he'll probably need surgery tomorrow.

Kacey I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can have him vomit it up tomorrow.

Glad to gear everyone but Kacey Dog is ok, Kacey I hope everything is ok tommoroow.

Apparently, being air-filled, it went down but is unlikely to come up... but his regular vet should charge about half what the emergency vet does - and since the emergency vet didn't think waiting overnight was a major risk, I decided to wait. Right now, he's not showing any symptoms, and is happily sniffing around hoping for turkey... with any luck, he'll digest it enough that it deflates; then he could vomit it up, but from what the emergency vet said, I doubt it. As long as he seems okay, he should be fine til morning; they told me what to look for... I just don't have $3000 for dog surgery if waiting til tomorrow is low risk and the price will drop that much; the surgery is $1800, plus about $1000 for before and after care at the ER vet, and she though it would be about $1000 at his regular vet, and I'm guessing the cost for before and after care will drop similarly. If he starts to show the symptoms she mentioned - vomiting blood, listless, dehydrated - then I'll have to take him back. Otherwise, he'll go in first thing in the morning. I suspect I'm not going to sleep well tonight, keeping an eye on him.

Hey Kacey,

Let's hope for the best for your puppy.

Thanks. So far he's acting normally, so he should be good til the morning. After that, it's up to his vet.

Just dropped by for a minute to reclaim my thread.

What is up with the Kenpo section lately. Bob must have moved it under a bridge because it is inhabited by nothing but trolls.

Absolutely! I said the same thing last night/ this am,. I guess the powers are away enjoying the holliday, so, it's a temporary free pass.

The portal that these bullshidoites have come through must be found and closed, after they have been repatriated.
