Here's my brother-in-law trying out how his rebuild is going on his new car ... that just happens to be a hundred years old! I've had a good poke about the old lady {Oooh er missus!} and she's a wonderful example of igenious solutions to mechanical problems; the sorts of things that make you go "How did someone think of that!?".

That's a lot of car, Mark. Built like a tank it appears. It looks like it would be a lot of fun tooling down the highway in. :)

Mark, I hate to tell you this... but someone pulled one over on your brother-in-law if he sold that as a new car... ;)

So I think most people know I'm something of a car guy. But I'm into fast, well handling cars, so I'm not at all familiar with things like this.

What, specifically, is it?

I believe it started life as one of these:

But at some point in the past it has been modified to be a hill-climb competitor, which involved chopping the chassis down. So Andy will not be looking to return it to the state of that museum example but rather as an open-topped 'sports' car :D. Flying helmet and goggles will be required to have a ride apparently :).

If I can find out the exact model that it was born as, maybe this site will be of interest to the petrol heads here for reference purposes:

Steering wheel is on the wrong side as well! :jaw-dropping:

Looks kind of neat. I can guess he is having a lot of fun with that.

I use to go out for drives with a friend of mine in his "new car", not as impressive as a Chalmers but it was fun to ride around in
