Prepared a rather hedonistic meal today:

- French onion soup using Italian red sweet onion, homemade duck stock, homegrown thyme, parsley, and chives.
- Escargot risotto: rice with vegetables and pancetta, topped with snails, topped with the snail-appropriate sauce (butter, garlic, onions, more parsley and chives).

After that we ate some really good chocolate and drank bubbly. And watched one of Dr. Who Christmas Specials.

Fried 15 lbs of Catfish, Two large bags of French Fries, and 3 bags of jalapeno hushpuppies.

Can't beat a Cajun Fryer for a fish fry.

Nice. I saw a grill/smoker at Dick's today and fell in love. My dad used to make home-smoked meats, and I am dying to try my hand at it.

Ran two miles in the rain. I'd forgotten how good rain feels when it's warm outside.

First run with the Nike Run Club app. Their guided runs feature a somewhat annoying and funny coach. Now I want to run longer to see what he'll say next time.

New job is going pretty well - I actually have a meeting with
the CEO tomorrow.. he invited me to meet with him to learn
more about the business and invest his time to help me learn
more about building trust and relationships with our clients.
As an A/R Specialist, I am very grateful for this opportunity
to work with him and learn all I can!

was able to spend some time with my Dad yesterday,, he
was feeling a bit weak, but with the help of my brothers -
we were able to clean out his garage and get it organized

In honor of Memorial Day - to all of those who have served
and those currently serving - THANK YOU!!!

With your love of cooking....you should check out an Anova Sous Vide cooker.....Anova Culinary | Cook sous vide at home

We love ours
You know, it's weird, but I am not into kitchen equipment all that much. Growing up, all you needed to cook was a knife, a pan, some water, and fire. So... I am pretty primitive in that sense. But thank you for the recommendation! :)

Submitted a novella to a major sci-fi magazine. For the first time in my life. And offered my services as a translator. We'll see... I mean, what's the worst thing that can happen? They'll say "No, thank you!"
